Race In Minneapolis: A Virtual Town Hall Series

Part one of our conversation explored the historical roots of the racial divide in Minneapolis and why George Floyd's murder and subsequent protests were unique. This town hall was the first in a series of conversations about how we can collectively channel the energy of this moment into sustainable, systemic transformation.

In part two of our town hall series we discussed the ways systemic racism has hampered progress in Minneapolis and other American cities, and specific strategies that can be employed to dismantle systemic racism and white supremacy; politically, socially, and economically.

In part three of our town hall series we continued the conversation of how to move beyond symbolic expressions of solidarity to substantive policy change in law enforcement, corporate culture, and education.

In Part four of our series we convened three Twin Cities Business leaders: Penny Wheeler, CEO of Allina Health, David Mortenson, Chair of M.A. Mortenson Inc, and Tim Welsh, Vice Chair of Business and Consumer Banking for US Bank for a conversation on race, equity, and justice in the private sector and the role of corporations in making our society more just.
Rev. Jon Robinson, Pastor
Rev. Stacey Smith, Presiding Elder
The Rt. Rev. John Franklin White, Presiding Bishop
