MINISTERIAL TEAMRev. Jon Robinson, Pastor
The Reverend Jon Robinson is an Ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and has been actively engaged in ministry since accepting his call to preach in November 2000. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of St. Peter’s AME Church in Minneapolis, MN. Community building and outreach are a central focus of Pastor Robinson’s ministry. To more fully address some of the issues affecting young people, Pastor. Robinson founded and currently serves as the President and C.E.O. of The Building Up Our Youth Foundation, (B.U.O.Y. - www.buoyfoundation.org) a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 youth services organization that develops young people educationally,
socially and spiritually. Pastor Robinson has established church and nonprofit partnerships with local and national businesses, foundations, and schools to provide opportunities for middle and high school students to participate in programs that develop their knowledge base and skill sets in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and business and leadership development. Pastor Robinson also leads short-term mission trips, exposing young people to the importance of service and meeting the needs of God’s people around the world. Pastor Robinson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management degree from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL and a Master of Divinity Degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL. He also holds certifications in youth ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, NJ, and church leadership and nonprofit management from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, IL. Pastor Robinson is an international preacher and teacher who has shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people all over the world, including Jamaica, Guatemala, The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda. He and his wife Michelle have been married for 16 years. |
The Reverend Gerald Garth, (Local Elder) Associate Minister
Rev. Garth joined St. Peters A.M.E. Church in 1994 and was ordained a Local Deacon in 1999. As a dedicated member of St. Peters he joined the Brotherhood of Ushers, chaired the Richard Allen Men’s Ministry, and managed the Community Reclamation Project for at risk young men and women. In addition, he served on the Steward Board and chaired a Men’s Day celebration. Rev. Garth and his wife Sharon created Dove Ministries to assist individuals with developing a deeper relationship with God by teaching strong spiritual characteristics, and leadership skills which individuals use to plan and execute their Christian life’s goals. Through Dove Ministries they also assist Churches in the development of membership growth strategies through financial and legacy planning. Rev. Garth currently serves on the ministerial staff of St. Peters A.M.E. Church and facilitates the Prayer Ministry. |
The Reverend William Jackson, (Superannuate) Associate Minister
Rev. Jackson served in the United States Army for two years and was discharged with honors. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kansas. Rev. Jackson was called to ministry in 1995, after which he received a Bachelor of Arts from Athens State University in 1999 Majoring in Religious Studies. His ministry began at St. Peter’s and after planting and pastoring a church in Huntsville, AL for nearly 10 years, he returned to his beginning. Rev. William Jackson currently serves as the facilitator of the Bereavement Ministry. In addition to that, Rev. Jackson serves the congregation and community of St. Peter’s in a number of ways. |
